           Contemporary Worship Leader              Doug Johnson

Contemporary Worship

Doug Johnson, like Pastor Mac, is from the volunteer state of Tennessee and is a huge Tennessee Volunteer fan…GO BIG ORANGE!  Doug grew up around the northern middle Tennessee area in Gallatin, where he graduated from Gallatin High School.  After high school Doug joined the United States Army (Infantry) for an enlistment of four years.  Following the service to his country, Doug attended Volunteer State Community College, was married to his best friend Kellie, became a father to his son Preston and daughter Kirsten and moved to Portland, TN.  Doug served in various churches in the following areas: first impressions, special music solo performances, choir, passion plays, praise teams, and praise bands.  While being bi-vocational, Doug served as part-time Worship Pastor for six years at his previous church in hopes of going into full time ministry.  After seeking the Lord in prayer and God’s will for his life, the Lord blessed Doug with a full time position at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church in 2014 as Genesis’ Contemporary Worship Leader.
